Tyler K. Nivens, D.D.S.
Born and raised in Columbia, MO, Dr. Nivens graduated from Rock Bridge High School in 2001. He spent the next eight years in Kansas City completing his undergraduate work in Biochemistry at William Jewell College and then dental school at UMKC, graduating cum laude. In 2009, Dr. Nivens and his wife moved back to Columbia to start their family and career. Before coming to work with Dr. Elliott, he worked for five years at the public health clinic in Columbia. Dr. Nivens feels his time at Family Health Center of Boone County was absolutely necessary in his dental path. It has made him the clinician he is today and allowed him to take care of the community that he grew up in. He is part of the Central Missouri Dental Society, Missouri Dental Association, and American Dental Association, and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he enjoys attending Mizzou sporting events, playing golf, or building furniture. It is Dr. Nivens' goal to start participating/leading dental mission trips with his team in the near future both stateside and abroad.
Thomas A. Elliott, D.D.S. (retired)
Dr. Elliott grew up in Kirkwood, MO. In 1973, he graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. In 1977, he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Elliott is the founder of the practice, which he began in 1978. He built a successful practice based on his ability to connect with individuals and build trusting relationships with his patients. Dr. Elliott retired in the summer of 2020.

It is with both sadness and joy that I am announcing my retirement.
It has been an honor being your Dentist for 43 years. Each and every one of you hold a special place in my heart. I will always cherish the friendships we have formed, watching many of you grow and have families of your own.
Thank you for putting your trust in me. I look forward to seeing you outside the dental office. Until then, brush, floss and stay healthy!
